A Message to All at A.F.C. Darwen

As I’m sure most of you are aware, last Wednesday’s game against Ilkley Town was the club’s last home league game of the season. This means that I may (depending on Darwen’s progress in cup competitions) have written my last Darwen match report of the season.

Darwen’s last home league game of the season last Wednesday.

With just under 24 hours to go then until The Salmoners’ 36th and final league contest of the season at South Liverpool, now feels like an appropriate and fitting time to thank all at the club for making me feel so welcome this season and offer my best wishes to Kenny and the lads for tomorrow’s game.

It has been great to produce the match reports for the club’s home games this campaign. Covering Darwen this season has truly been an invaluable experience. My reporting skills have come on leaps and bounds and that is mostly down to how my role at the club has allowed me to develop with each and every report that I have produced.

If any supporters who have read my reports in the club’s match day programmes or on the club’s website are reading this, thank you for taking the time to read them – it really is appreciated. I hope they came across well and I hope you found them interesting and insightful.

I’d like to especially thank Elaine Littler for offering me the opportunity.

I’d also like to thank the late Stephen Hart, as well as Matt Murphy and Neil Sears for all their efforts in getting my reports in the programmes and on the website.

Hopefully, the team can continue their good form by winning at South Liverpool tomorrow to ensure that A.F.C. Darwen is still a North West Counties Division One North club come the start of next season.

Thanks once again and Up The Salmoners! 🇦🇹
